MISSION VIEJO CROWN VALLEY IMAGING RADIOLOGIST ALIREZA NAMINI REVIEW

It saddens me to write a poor review of a doctor or a medical faculty.

Medicine can be subjective.

Technology has advanced medicine. With the benefits of technology medical specialists can now view vital body parts.

So, when a radiologist reads two images on the same patient within two weeks and almost makes a deadly error, it needs to be acknowledged.

The patients of Crown Valley Imaging need to be aware of what happened to our daughter.

If my pulmonologist would have not had the wherewithal to question the Crown Valley Imaging radiologist results my seventeen year old daughter may not be alive.

Mission Viejo, Crown Valley Imaging, Radiologist Namini made the error when he views my daughter's X-Ray and CT with contrast.

REASON FOR X-RAY

My daughter's Pulmonologist requested an X-Ray to help determine the shortness of breath.

Dr. Namini stated on my daughter's 3/19/2019 that the quality of X-Ray is excellent. The Thoracic Aorta is normal in caliber, and her heart was normal size.

I understand that an X-Ray is a common imaging tool to help doctors view the inside of a person's body. An X-Ray does not always provide detailed information.

However, I do not understand how Dr. Namini did not view my daughter's anomalous left superior pulmonary vein. Her vein was draining to the wrong part of her heart.

If Radiologist Namini followed the Thoracic Aorta, then how did he miss my daughter's anomalous pulmonary vein?

CTE CHEST PE WITH CONTRAST CROWN VALLEY IMAGING MISSION VIEJO REVIEW

My daughter continues to have extreme shortness of breath when walking, so her Pulmonologist ordered a CT with contrast.

Mission Viejo, Crown Valley Imaging uses a GE Optima CT-600 to try to diagnosis the cause of my daughter's shortness of breath.

The Crown Valley Imaging Radiologist, who read my daughter's CT was Dr. Alireza Namini.

Radiologist Namini stated my daughter's CT study was excellent.

He wrote the thoracic aorta is normal in caliber with no aneurysm or dissections. The heart is of normal size. The CT was a normal examination.

The following day after my daughter's ability to breath seems to have worsened. She was not able to go to school and she only wants to lie in her bed.

My husband and I are confused because all her tests imaging stated she was normal.

DOCTOR ELLINI

Months before my daughter's CT at Crown Valley Imaging, we had seen CHOC Pediatric Ahmad Ellini.

Dr. Ellini had told my husband and me that our daughter did not have a cardiac condition and to see a pulmonologist.

We feel Dr. Ellini is either incompetent or negligent.

Dr. Ellini could have killed our daughter by telling us he reviewed her Echocardiogram, and CT are both normal.

My daughter's Echocardiogram and CT shows she has an anomalous left superior pulmonary vein.

My review of CHOC Dr. Ellini is for another review post.

You can read part of our experience with Dr. Ellini on this HypoGal Blog post.

The portion about Dr. Ellini begins after the header, THIS IS OUR EXPERIENCE WITH LEFT PARTIAL ANOMALOUS PULMONARY VENOUS RETURN
JUNE 2019

Radiologist Namini was not aware of our pediatric cardiac experience with Dr. Ellini.

PALOMA MEDICAL PULMONOLOGIST DOCTOR MICHAEL ROVZAR

My daughter Pulmonologist is one of the remarkable doctors that helped save our daughter's life.

I have known my daughter's Pulmonologist for over fifteen years.

He is also my Pulmonologist, Doctor Michael Rovzar

He guides me through my journey with Pulmonary Embolisms, helps me to manage my Relapsing Polychondritis.

Dr. Rovzar always offers an open ear, and he tries to navigate me in the correct direction.

As I ask Doctor Rovzar to provide more and more tests for my daughter, I begin to wonder if he thinks I have Munchausen Syndrome.

I insist to Dr. Rovzar that my daughter is not well and he needs to run more tests.

The doctor agrees to run more test, a lung function test, and a six-minute walk.

During the six-minute walk, it is apparent that there is something very wrong with our my daughter.

She is having a difficult time continuously walking, and her air saturation levels continue to drop.

Pulmonologist, Michael Rovzar is the doctor who orders the X-Ray, CT with Contrast and phones Dr. Namini to discuss my daughter's images.

When Dr. Namini reviews my daughter's CT, he finds his error.

The error on my daughter's CT is similar to finding the elephant in the room.

We are fortunate that Doctor Rovzar had the insight to call Radiologist Namini for a second read of my daughter's CT.

ANOMALOUS LEFT SUPERIOR PULMONARY VEIN MISSED BY CROWN VALLEY IMAGING

Crown Valley Imaging Radiologist Namini reviews my daughter's CT.

The CT shows my daughter has a Left Side Partial Pulmonary Venous Return.

The Radiologist's oversight of my daughter's CT could have caused her death.

After the Crown Valley Imaging Radiologist Namini misread our daughter's CT, my husband and I knew we needed better medical assistance.

MAYO CLINIC SURGEON JOSEPH DEARANI

We are fortunate and blessed that Mayo Clinic Surgeon Joseph Dearani and his team successfully performed our daughter's open-heart surgery.

Dr. Dearani reimplanted our daughter's Left Partial Pulmonary Anomalous Return.

I want to note that Dr. Dearani is a brilliant surgeon who is open to questions and follows up with his patients.

Another sidenote, my review of the talented Dr. Dearani is for another review post.

ANOMALOUS LEFT SUPERIOR PULMONARY VEIN

Two Cardiologists and two Cardiac Surgeons can easily find my daughter's Anomalous Left Superior Pulmonary Vein.

The Cardiologist at The Mayo Clinic is gracious enough to show us our daughter's CT slice by slice.

My husband and I are upset that Dr. Namini did not see our daughter's Anomalous Left Superior Pulmonary Vein.

We cannot understand how Dr. Namani did not notice the difference between the red and blue colors that lit up on the Mayo Clinic's Cardiologist computer.

CROWN VALLEY IMAGING IS SENDING US TO COLLECTIONS

After we arrive home from weeks of stay at The Mayo Clinic, I open an envelope from Crown Valley Imaging.

Inside the envelope is a bill from Crown Valley Imaging for $579.44.

Our health insurance has already paid Crown Valley Imaging thousands for Doctor Namani's incorrect diagnosis.

Now Mission Viejo Crown Valley Imaging billing states we need to pay them $579.44, or they are going to place us in collections.

I phoned Crown Valley Imaging billing and explain their Radiologist's error.

The Crown Valley Imaging billing department is sympathetic to the reasons we feel that we should not have to pay the $579.00 copay.

My phone calls to Crown Valley Imaging billing department go on for weeks.

Upon request of their billing department I sent them my daughter's open-heart surgery report from the Mayo Clinic.

I even sent over a photo of our daughter's anomalous pulmonary vein from her open-heart surgery.

THE MAYO CLINIC

After Crown Valley Imaging Radiologist Namini, Dr. Ellini's sufficient errors, we did not know who to trust.

We chose The Mayo Clinic.

The Mayo Clinic was the best choice for our family.

The pictures from my daughter's open-heart surgery show a large anomalous pulmonary vein draining incorrectly.

The Mayo Clinic Surgeon, Dr. Dearani dissected my daughter's anomalous pulmonary vein, and then reimplanted the pulmonary vein in the correct place.

The photos show how the incredible Surgeon, Dr. Dearani, implanted the vein.

BACK TO CROWN VALLEY IMAGING MISSION VIEJO REVIEW

My phone calls with Crown Valley Imaging Mission Viejo billing department continue to go on for weeks.

Their billing department keeps telling me that the need to wait for the owner of Crown Valley Imaging to return from vacation.

Then another bill from Crown Valley Imaging arrives in our mailbox.

This time Crown Valley Imaging envelope is addressed to my husband.

Inside the Crown Valley Imaging envelope rest an invoice that states we need to pay them $579.44 or they take my husband to collections.

I had sent the Crown Valley Imaging billing department the report from the Mayo Clinic. The surgical report stated the surgical procedure and the outcome.

The Mayo Clinic medical report stated our daughter's the right- heart was severely enlarged right ventricular a.k.a. Enlarged heart and a partial anomalous pulmonary return of the left upper and lingular lobes to a vertical vein.

CROWN VALLEY IMAGING RADIOLOGIST NAMINI

I speak to Dr. Namini, and he tells me how concerned he has been about my daughter.

I made Dr. Namini aware of my daughter's surgery.

I convey to Dr. Namini that because of his error, my daughter had to endure other expensive tests.

My husband and I do not feel we should have to pay our co-payment for his misdiagnosis.

Dr. Namini informs me that we need to pay our co-pay.

He says his error did not cost us that much time; he had to speak with two of my daughter's specialists and review my daughter's images.

I tell him Dr. Namini that his significant error made us move forward with unnecessary tests, doctor appointments, and emotional stress.

Dr. Namini then has the nerve to tell me that other doctors were able to make the diagnosis because of his diagnosis.

My daughter's anomalous pulmonary vein was beyond screaming to be seen!

You can see a medical photo of my daughter's anomalous pulmonary vein on the web link.

Our conversation ends with Dr. Nami telling me to take up my co-pay concerns with billing.

We paid our co-pay of $579.44 to Mission Viejo Crown Valley Imaging.

My husband and I do not want our credit to be affected.

My husband and I do not know how many other patients Dr. Namini has misdiagnosed.

I hope this terrible review of Dr. Namini medical service may help other people.

Click on this weblink to find a Dr. Namini's incorrect CT report.

Dr. Namini states that my daughter's Thoracic Aorta is normal.

How could Dr. Namini miss my daughter's anomalous left superior ?

You can view the a photo of the Thoracic Aorta on this web link.

HOW MUCH DOES A RADIOLOGIST MADE IN CALIFORNIA?

According to salary.com the average Radiologist salary in California is $455,090 as of July 30, 2019, but the range typically falls between $395,690 and $526,490.

Salary ranges can vary widely depending on the city and many other important factors, including education, certifications, additional skills, the number of years you have spent in your profession.

DOCTOR NAMINI'S SALARY

I do not know how much Crown Valley Radiologist Namini compensation is each year.

If Doctor Namini receives an average California radiologist salary then his compensation should be somewhere in the neighborhood of $400,000 each year.

I am believe doctors, medical specialists should be highly compensated.

To become a doctor an individual must have commitment, intelligence and spend an exorbitant amount of money to attend medical school.

Just as I believe in high compensation for doctors, I feel a medical specialist who makes a blatant error should be held accountable.

I applaud the men and women who chose to dedicate themselves to our medical care. Thank you!
